May 4, 2015

The recently published book titled “Wartski: The First 150 Years” is about a family firm of art and antique dealers specializing in fine jewelry, gold boxes, silver and works of art by Carl Fabergé. The firm was founded in Bangor, North Wales, in 1865 by Morris Wartski, maternal great-grandfather of the present-day chairman.
From King George V to JFK and Elizabeth Taylor, Wartski's London showroom has welcomed many patrons. They visit to view and buy the company's stock of goldsmiths’ work and jewelry, not least the celebrated works of Fabergé.
Author Geoffrey C. Munn tells the remarkable story of how the jewelry firm rose from humble beginnings in Bangor, North Wales, to become the preeminent Mayfair jewelers and antique dealers specializing in the work of Carl Fabergé and Russian objets d'art. The book is lavishly illustrated throughout with images of the celebrated jewels and their illustrious owners.
Munn is the managing director of Wartski Ltd. He is co-author of “Pre-Raphaelite to Arts and Crafts Jewellery” and the author of “Tiaras: A History of Splendour,” “Castellani and Giuliano-Revivalist Jewellers of the 19th Century” and “The Triumph of Love-Jewellery 1530-1930.” He is also a jewelry specialist on the BBC's “Antiques Roadshow.”
