Ocean City, N.J., Historical Museum Will Hold Annual Antiques Show On July 11

June 24, 2015

The Ocean City, N.J., Historical Museum will sponsor its third annual Antiques Show on Saturday, July 11. The show will boast 25 dealers, who will be displaying and selling a variety of antiques including small furniture, jewelry, decoys, books, china, glassware and numerous shore-related items such as postcards and memorabilia.
The show provides the museum with the opportunity to also sell donated vintage items, as well as antiques that have been deaccessioned from the museum's collection. One of the highlights this year will be a pair of antique lamps made from vases that were part of the cargo from the Sindia, a four-mast barque that ran aground off the Ocean City beach in 1901. Numerous other antiques will also be sold at the museum table. All of these profits will be used to benefit the ongoing curatorial work at the museum.
This year's roster of dealers will include Barbara and Mike Colombo, who are well-known in the Ocean City area for their collecting of vintage bathing suits and other beach related antiques; Larry and Joan Frankel from Margate, who will be selling an eclectic collection of smalls, as well as some wonderful sterling jewelry; Mary Ann Gring, who specializes in antique books for both children and adults, as well as other antique paper goods; and Bruce Dooley, well-known owner of two local shops who will be featuring antique smalls and an impressive assortment of jewelry.
The show is open to the public with free admission, but donations will be accepted for the purpose of supporting the museum and its curatorial goals.
The hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show will take place in the newly renovated and air-conditioned community center, which is located at 17th and Haven Avenue in Ocean City, N.J.
