Results In From Locati Auctions September Online Auction

October 6, 2014

Locati Auctions of Maple Glen, Pa., held a September online sale from Sept. 2 to 15. There were 699 lots offered in a wide range of categories, from jewelry and silver to Asian art and furniture. As always, Locati held a one-day preview event in their restored stone barn built in 1815.
"We had a great turnout for our preview. We are always happy to meet new local bidders who have an advantage in being able to inspect lots in person," said Michael Locati, co-owner of the business. Nearly 2,000 bidders registered for the auction and over 2,100 bids were executed before the end of the sale.
Highlights included a silk Tabriz that sold for $6,500, a rare ship's passport signed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison that sold for $4,100, three small Japanese lacquer boxes that brought a strong $1,700, and a Theodore Deck bronze mounted jardiniere that although damaged sold for $1,900.
