Rock Island Auction Company's Regional Firearms Auction Scheduled For June 26 To 28

June 8, 2015

Rock Island Auction Company's (RIAC) Regional Firearms Auction is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 26, 27, and 28, and will be yet again another jumbo-sized sale from the world's number one firearms auction house. Leading the industry for 11 consecutive years, RIAC has put together an auction bursting at the seams with collector firearms, edged weapons, military artifacts, ammunition, books, Western art, collectible gold and silver coins, jewels, and much more. There are nearly 7,000 items in over 3,000 lots.
Highlights of this sale will include many pre- and early Winchesters, such as the engraved Henry rifle in Lot 2047 or the special order deluxe Winchester Model 1873 in Lot 6. Perennial favorite Colt will also be well-represented with over 400 to choose from. Most likely to catch collectors' eyes are the engraved, San Francisco shipped, antique Colt single action Army revolver with "one piece" pearl grips in Lot 4188 and scarce London Agency cased, flat-top target model single action Army with its accessories in Lot 243.
Other genres and manufacturers are also abundant. Crossing the block will be well over 600 shotguns, more than 200 Spanish arms, the majority coming from the Dr. Joel Glovsky collection. In excess of 600 Winchesters, approximately 1,300 antiques and over 3,400 classified as curio and relic pieces will be sold. Those seeking something more modern will also have numerous options, with over 1,000 modern handguns as well as more than 700 modern long guns.
