Second Anniversary Brings Changes
With over 4 million hits and over 20,000 unique visitors during the month of October, 2009, icollect247.com, the new all-vintage, antique style shopping mall site, broke all of its goals for 2009. Dealers were asking for more categories and new sorting features, so it was time to make those changes, Irene Davis, owner of the site, said.
New categories include: Metal Work, Music Collectibles, Military Collectibles, Primitives, Souvenir Collectibles, and Sports Collectibles. Also, as well as the “New Arrivals,” a new “Weekly Arrivals” is offered for those who do not have time to check the site daily. A new sort feature has been added to the categories and subcategories that makes it possible to view the listings by the “Newest Items,” “Lowest Priced” or “Highest Priced.” “With over 10,000 items available for sale, from over 60 dealers, it is an added featured that our shoppers needed,” says Irene.
Dealers will also find a few changes in their statistics page, where they track their web store’s success. Last month, the counter was blown when, in a 30 day period, over nine million pieces of data that were being tracked by the server were being saved. So now it has changed to a two week period, and archiving the rest.
Also new to the site is a “Collector’s Forum” offering collectors a place to ask dealers questions, get information on collectors’ clubs, learn how to spot reproductions, and information on shows, as well as a place collectors can let people know what they are looking for to add to their collection. Anyone can view the forum, but to post they need to register. “This is a new and informative area which we are excited to offer to the world of collecting,” said Irene.
Dealers are very happy with their sales, and everything from Advertising to Fine Antiques is selling. For a recent sale of a Poll Parrot neon, to pottery, vintage is selling on icollect247.com.
